Rejoice, Jesus Christ, is Risen!
Good Friday reminds us of the darkest day in human history. Easter reminds us of the brightest
day in human history. Let’s rejoice evermore because of the resurrection of Christ. Here are 20
aspects, there are many more, on why we can and should rejoice!
The resurrection of Jesus Christ proves or assures believers in Him that:
- He is the Christ, the Son of God with power, Rom. 1:4
- We now live in the power of the resurrection, Rom. 6:6-11, and are guaranteed a future
resurrection, 1 Cor. 15:13, 16, 20-23, 2 Cor. 4:14 - Our preaching (about Him) is not in vain, 1 Cor. 15:14
- The Apostles were not false but true witnesses of the resurrection, 1 Cor. 15:15
- The NT, written mostly by these true witnesses, the Apostles, and by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, can be believed on as truth to live by, 2 Pet. 1:20-21, 2 Tim. 3:16
- Our faith is not in vain because of the perfect provision for our sins, 1 Cor. 15:17
- Loved ones who are asleep in Christ are not perished, 1 Cor. 15:18
- Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord, their works do follow them, Rev. 14:13
- We have a living hope that all our sufferings on earth will end one day, 1 Cor. 15:19-20
- The sting of death is dead. Death is sweet to believers, beginning of endless joy, 1 Cor. 15:55
- The open grave of Christ is evidence that our grave cannot hold us or defeat us but that we are
victors through our Lord Jesus Christ, 1Cor. 15:55, 57 - Our mortal, weak, corruptible body will one day be immortal, incorruptible, and a glorious body
like the resurrected body of Christ, 1 Cor. 15:56, Phil. 3:20-21 - We can have a winners attitude in all circumstances of life, 1 Cor. 54-57
- The stranglehold of sin, death, and Satan is severed or defeated, 1 Cor. 15:26
- The glorious, future day prophesied in Scripture has dawned, 1 Cor. 15:23, Matt. 11:5, Isa. 61:3
- We have a Church today with the risen Christ as its Head, Col. 1:18, 24, and we are all members
of His body, 1 Cor. 12:13-27 - The Holy Spirit, another comforter, was sent to live in us, John 16:7; 14:16-17
- Christ is now our high priest, intercessor, and advocate, in the presence of the Father, 1 John.
2:1 - We can live today looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing (return) of the great
God and our Savior Jesus Christ, Titus 2:13 - We can now be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that
our labor is not in vain in the Lord, 1 Cor. 15:58
Soli Deo Gloria!
